Brand New Day 4K Steelbook Designs Revealed

Amazon has seemingly revealed the cover designs for Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s 4K UHD Steelbook and Collector’s Edition, only to remove the artwork from its listings hours later.

You can see the designs below.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Collector’s Edition (Left) and 4K UHD Steelbook Edition (Right).

The special-edition physical releases went up for preorder at retailers including Amazon and Walmart just over a week ago, with Amazon updating its listings over the weekend to include the new artwork.

The $150.99 Collector’s Edition features a recreation of the iconic Amazing Fantasy #15 cover that introduced Spider-Man, which was itself recreated in the opening scene of Brand New Day. The 4K UHD Steelbook, meanwhile, depicts Spider-Man’s epic fight with crime syndicate “The Hand”.

While art for the Steelbook has received plenty of praise online, some fans have been less impressed with the Collector’s Edition design. Commenters on r/Steelbooks wrote:

“Thank God the steelbook only option has the better art imo. I’m not dropping $150 for a movie.”

    “Lmao that cover”

“Easiest refund of all time for collectors edition lol”

Walmart’s store page highlights that the Collector’s Edition features premium steelbook packaging with a magnetic lenticular cover; an original, never-before-seen Spider-Man comic book; and extra exclusive collectibles, but lacks any further information on the pricey preorder.

Both listings have since reverted to their previous artwork, using Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s global poster instead of the seemingly leaked cover designs.

Standard 4K UHD preorders for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, not including the Steelbook, are also up for preorder at Amazon right now, and down to $32.49 (was $49.99). Preorders for the Steelbook Edition are still available, costing $44.99, while the Collector’s Edition is currently out of stock at both Amazon and Walmart.

At the time of publication, there is no confirmed released date for the DVD, Blu-ray, or 4K UHD edition of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

With its total now at $655 million domestically and $1.01 billion internationally, Spider-Man: Brand New Day stands at a whopping $1.67 billion worldwide – and it’s still just getting started.

With many more weekends in theaters to come, $2 billion seems all but certain for the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed superhero flick. Reaching that number will put it past the lifetime gross of its predecessor, Spider-Man: No Way Home. Where it will fall after that… is anyone’s guess.

IGN’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day review earned it a 7/10. At the time, reviewer Tom Jorgensen said it “effectively refocuses on the most reliable pillars of the webslinger: battling inner turmoil, swinging around NYC saving the day, and looking cool while doing so.”

I, personally, would give Brand New Day a 9/10! It’s promptly become one of my favorite Spidey flicks to date, and I’d highly recommend it to everyone looking for a great cinema experience.
