The first full volume of DC’s All In publishing initiative has finally gotten a decent hardcover discount. Absolute Batman Vol. 1: The Zoo, which was first released back in August 2025, has dropped to under $20 on Amazon, 22% off its usual retail price.
Volume 1 of Absolute Batman wraps up the first 6-issue arc written by comics legend Scott Snyder and illustrated by Nick Dragotta. With issue #23 scheduled to release this week, this price drop makes it a great time to start your collection with some savings.

If you aren’t already familiar with Absolute Batman, it’s worth noting that it’s a bit different than some of the other popular Batman comics out there. Batman is still Bruce Wayne, but instead of being a billionaire playboy, he’s just the son of a school teacher. Without money and resources to support his crime fighting, he resorts to becoming absolutely jacked so he can combine brains with pure brawn to take on the darkest parts of Gotham. Plenty of other iconic villains have entirely different origin stories that reshape their motivations across the comic series as well.
While this story exists purely in comic book form right now, DC Studios and Warner Bros. announced back in June that Absolute Batman would be getting the animated treatment. Scott Snyder will work as the executive producer and showrunner of the series, with Nick Dragotta signed on as a producer. An official release date has yet to be set for the project, but it will likely land on HBO Max sometime in the next few years.
Although Absolute Batman is part of DC Comics, it will not have anything to do with the rest of James Gunn’s DCU or Matt Reeve’s upcoming Batman movie. With Snyder at the helm, you can expect a faithful adaptation to the original story that showcases a Bruce Wayne like you’ve never seen him before.
If you want an idea of what to expect from the comic, you can get a free peek directly from DC’s website. It’s one of the best places to read Batman comics online and also includes free episodes of Absolute Superman and Absolute Wonder Woman.
