Is it possible to jailbreak iOS 26 on an iPhone? Here’s the latest status update so that you have everything that you need to know ahead of time.

Apple has released iOS 26 to the public after months of testing, and you’re probably wondering whether it’s safe to update if you’re a jailbreaker.

Jailbreaking might not be as popular as it once was, but it’s still something that people like to do for various reasons. Apple has added most of the popular jailbreak tweaks as features to iOS over the years, and iOS 26 is the best version yet. But where does this new update leave jailbreakers?

The last time a jailbreak was released for the latest iPhone and iOS version was back in 2019. That seems unlikely to change any time soon, and that’s bad news if you’re a fan of jailbreaking.

While there have been jailbreak tools like checkra1n that continue to be updated from time to time, they only support the iPhone X and older. That, unfortunately, means those with newer devices are left out. That has been the case for a while, and there is little suggestion that it will change soon.

This could, of course, change at any moment, and we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes in the jailbreak community. Still, while crossing fingers is fine, we definitely wouldn’t suggest that anyone hold their breath, unfortunately.
