Terraria Mod Devs Ask Users To Pull Donations Following Allegations

The team behind Calamity, a hugely popular Terraria mod which began development in 2016, has announced that “the mod’s future development is halted until further notice.” This follows allegations against its lead developer for “actions endangering minors” and unpaid compensation of “several thousand” dollars to the mod’s dev team.

As originally covered by GamesRadar, the entire development team behind Calamity, other than its owner and lead dev, Ozzatron, announced on August 10 that they are collectively “ceasing all development” of the decade-old mod due to its “irrecoverably tainted reputation.”

According to one of Calamity’s lead devs, Mrrp, who shared the news on the mod’s official Discord server, Ozzatron was removed after the team allegedly saw “solid evidence of their actions endangering minors on Discord.”

Said alleged evidence stems from a separate Discord server named “Wormhole,” which Ozzatron, its owner, described as a “chill server” in which users could “vent about things” and “post lots of porn.” This is currently unconfirmed, but the Calamity community has created a Google Drive folder containing the purported evidence.

Likewise, in a separate message on the Calamity Discord server, the collective “Calamity Mod Developers” stated that they “have not been compensated” for their contributions to the mod, and that Ozzatron has not stated what he “intends to do with the several thousand in saved Patreon money.”

Mrrp also asked that users “cancel Patreon donations” for the Calamity Patreon page in light of this announcement, due to both the discontinuation of the mod and the fact that “Ozzatron owns the account.” It would seem that most Patreon members got the message, as an August 9, 2026 Internet Archive snapshot of the Calamity Patreon page stated that it was pulling in roughly $2,600 a month. As of this writing, that figure has dropped down to roughly $480 a month.

While Mrrp noted that the Calamity “dev team is working with tMod staff in order to officially transfer ownership of the [Steam] workshop to a new owner,” this may prove difficult as Ozzatron “owns Azafure LLC, which owns the Calamity Mod.” The Calamity Mod Developers signed off on their joint statement by saying that “despite all of this,” they are “incredibly thankful for the overwhelming amount of support over the past decade.”

“This journey has been long, bumpy, rough and chaotic…yet it’s still been wonderful despite that,” reads the Calamity Mod Developers’ statement. “Working on this, so many of us have learned to accomplish things we never thought we would be able to do, and no matter how painful it is to never see our dreams truly finished, the things we’ve learned we can do to be able to see the rest of our dreams maybe come to fruition some day is something that can never be taken away.”
