Taking Back Sunday are re-releasing their fan-favourite album ‘Louder Now’ to mark its 20th anniversary.
The landmark third album will be turning 20 later this year, and to mark the milestone the New York rock giants will be releasing an anniversary edition on October 16 via Craft Recordings. Visit here to pre-order.
As well as the original tracklist, which featured tracks including ‘MakeDamnSure’, ‘Twenty-Twenty Surgery’, and ‘Liar (It Takes One To Know One)’, the new reissue will come with two bonus B-side tracks titled ‘Brooklyn (If You See Something, Say Something)’ and ‘Sleep’.
The B-side tracks will be presented on an exclusive 7 inch with the vinyl edition and added to the deluxe CD. Variations of the LP on offer include a Silver Screen colourway, as well as a limited edition clear and glitter version exclusive to the online store, a Craft Recordings burgundy exclusive, and more.
Today’s (August 5) announcement of the reissue comes as Taking Back Sunday are currently on one of their biggest touring years yet – appearing at all five dates of the returning Vans Warped Tour and playing a run of live shows with Bayside.
Next, they will play festival slots at Louder Than Life, Shaky Knees and more, and play the third record in full at Riot Fest. They will also be playing a huge headline date at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where they will also play ‘Louder Now’ in its entirety.
For these gigs, Adam Lazzara, John Nolan and Shaun Cooper have invited guitarist and vocalist Fred Mascherino – who was part of Taking Back Sunday’s line-up for ‘Louder Now’ – to join them on the road again.
“Our record ‘Louder Now’ represents a huge milestone for me, and to know it has made an impact on so many other people’s lives as well is something I still struggle to get my head around,” said frontman Lazzara.
“To have the opportunity to celebrate that record with both John Nolan and Fred Mascherino on stage together, along with Shaun Cooper, is incredible to me. The songs sound stronger than I can ever remember live, and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to share that with everyone.”

Back in 2023, Taking Back Sunday shared the single ‘Keep Going’ and Lazzara and Nolan spoke to us about their album ‘152’.
“There’s something a little more shiny to this record, but it’s still rough around the edges just because it’s us,” the singer said. “I always thought we were just a loud rock’n’roll band, but there’s so much more to it than that, especially when you listen to ‘152’.”
The change, he shared, came from him embracing other genres including pop. “When I was younger, I wouldn’t even listen to Led Zeppelin because it wasn’t punk enough. It was so dumb,” he added. “As time has gone on, I’ve realised, it doesn’t matter where the music has come from or who’s doing it. Good is good. You can’t mess with Harry Styles’ last album [‘Harry’s House‘].”
