[SINGAPORE] The Singapore Mint announced the launch of an investment-grade range of gold bullion bars named Lion Bullion, which features a signature lion motif design.
This emerges from the mint’s partnership with Swiss refinery Produits Artistiques Metaux Precieux to produce the design series, for investors to own physical gold securely while achieving quality assurance.
The gold bars are available in sizes ranging from 1 g to 1 kg and are exempt from the goods and services tax in Singapore.
The minted bars are individually sealed, serialised and digitally tagged, enabling fast authenticity checks.
All bullion bars are made to order, to ensure thorough quality control and authentication, said the mint in a statement on Tuesday (Sep 30).
Investors can use the Singapore Mint’s secure online platform to view market prices and retrieve detailed information about their gold bullion.

They may also opt for delivery or self-collection of their bullion at the mint’s retail outlets, or select secure vault storage at the Singapore Mint vault instead.
The Lion Bullion is the first investment-grade gold bullion by the Singapore Mint, and can be purchased only through the institution.
With regard to products stored in the mint’s vault, transactions can be executed directly through the online platform for quicker settlement.

Complimentary vaulted storage until Jun 30, 2026, will be offered for customers who purchase a minimum of 10 ounces of Lion Bullion products, to mark the launch.
Catherina Ler, the executive director of the Singapore Mint, noted that there is growing demand for gold as a “trusted investment” amid global uncertainty.
“Backed by decades of minting expertise, investors can expect quality, reliability, an assured buy-back programme, and secure vaulting options in Singapore,” she said.
