A detailed schedule for the publication of Samsung’s One UI 8 has appeared. According to the leak, the Galaxy S25 models are expected to receive the Android 16 update on September 18. Older devices then follow until November.

Update time plan for One UI 8

At the beginning of August, Samsung had already revealed the approximate periods for the publication of One UI 8. So it should start in September. Several devices will receive the new user interface including Android 16. Now an alleged schedule has appeared for the distribution, which contains concrete dates for almost all Galaxy devices that should also apply to Europe.

According to the plan, all supported smartphones, tablets and smartwatches will receive the update by November 2025 at the latest. The leak comes from X-user Alfatürkthat had already provided information about Samsung updates in the past. Nevertheless, in this case, too, the information must be enjoyed with caution. So far there is no official confirmation from Samsung. However, the detailed schedule shows a typical Samsung distribution strategy.

October brings most of the updates

Unsurprisingly, the distribution in the current premium models should begin. On September 18, 2025, the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra should receive the update. A week later, on September 25th, the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy S25 Edge follow. October, however, is said to mark the most intense phase of Samsung’s one UI 8 distribution. On October 1st, Galaxy Watch models and the tablets of the Tab S10 series receive their updates. The Galaxy S23 series and folding devices Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will follow on October 2.

    Tablets and smartwatches comprehensively supported

Tablets and wearables are also broadly supported. The Galaxy Tab series allegedly receives updates from October 1 to November 5. Even the budget tablet Galaxy Tab A9 is still taken into account as announced. This strategy distinguishes Samsung from many competitors who often limit their update support to premium devices.

Galaxy Watch users can also look forward to the leak. Because models from Watch 4 to the current Watch 7 receive their updates between October 1 and November 3. One UI 8 for wearables brings improved health functions and an optimized user interface. The complete list of publication dates according to device categories: S series:

    • Galaxy S25 models: September 18th

    Regional differences

Although the schedule gives specific data, users should expect regional deviations. Historically, Samsung distributes large Android updates in phases, starting with selected markets. Although the data applies to Europe according to the leaker, users typically see updates in the EU one to two weeks after the initial start data.

Samsung uses this staggered distribution to recognize and fix potential problems at an early stage before updates are rolled out globally. One UI 8 is based on Android 16 and is said to have numerous improvements in the areas of artificial intelligence, data protection and user -friendliness. Samsung has already announced that the new version will increasingly rely on AI functions that should enable more seamless integration between different Galaxy devices.
