EXCLUSIVE: Ron Livingston is set to star alongside Alex Borstein and June Squibb in Turn the Lights Back On, the upcoming indie dramedy from writer-director Dave Pantano.
Turn the Lights Back On is a darkly comedic film exploring family, loneliness and the complicated ways people reconnect after years of emotional distance. Set against the lingering aftermath of the pandemic, the story centers on a fractured family forced to confront the relationships and versions of themselves they may have taken for granted.
Livingston plays Donny, the younger brother of Borstein’s Emma. Charming but often aloof and less attentive to his familial responsibilities, Donny is in the process of separating from his wife and dealing with the fallout of that with his two children while simultaneously grappling with the failing health of his aging mother.
Set to start production later this year, pic’s producers are Dino Maglaris, Harrison Chiu and Addie Scott Irwin. Borstein and Marni Rosenzweig are executive producing.
Livingston is a Golden Globe-nominated actor with credits including Office Space, Band of Brothers, The Conjuring, Adaptation, Boardwalk Empire, Loudermilk and A Million Little Things. Most recently, he’s been seen in Killing Castro, a political drama that premiered at this year’s Tribeca Festival. He is repped by UTA, Thruline and attorney Adam Kaller.
