Apple’s redesigned Health app has already reached developers and testers with the first beta of iOS 27.2. Here’s what’s new.

On Wednesday, following the full public release of iOS 27, Apple made iOS 27.2 beta 1 available to all compatible devices except the iPhone Duo. Apple’s first foldable phone is expected to ship with iOS 27.1, while the remainder of the iPhone lineup will receive iOS 27.2

The first developer beta of iOS 27.2 includes a redesigned Health app, which Apple previewed at its “Surprise and Shine” event on September 9. Initially available only in U.S. English, the new Health app offers Apple Intelligence insights, along with a new Longevity Tab and a Readiness score.

Apple said that it will not ship with iOS 27.2, however. They have also said that it will arrive before the end of 2026.

Apple’s redesigned Health app will work alongside the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Apple Watch Series 12, which include improved health sensing systems. For instance, users will be able to use their iPhone and Apple Watch together to complete health-related tests and activities, like VO2 Max evaluations.

With Wednesday’s iOS 27.2 developer beta, Apple has also improved Siri AI localization. The virtual assistant is now available in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, albeit only in beta for the time being.

Additionally, iOS 27.2 beta 1 enables dual capture for group FaceTime calls, meaning users will be able to share video feeds from both front-facing and rear iPhone cameras. The feature itself isn’t new, as Apple highlighted it during the launch of the iPhone 17 range, but it was previously limited to standard FaceTime calls.

Separately, Apple TV profiles, introduced with tvOS 26.2, are now available on the iPhone. Those running the first iOS 27.2 developer beta can add existing Apple TV profiles or create new ones. The feature itself is entirely optional, though.

Overall, iPhone users, and especially those with an Apple Watch, are in for a substantial upgrade with iOS 27.2. With a redesigned Health app, better language support for Siri AI, and dual capture now being available in group FaceTime calls, there’s a lot to look forward to.
