Cooper Hoffman and Nico Parker have an impossibly sweet connection.
Indeed, the I Want Your Sex star—whose dad is the late Philip Seymour Hoffman—is giving insight into how his love story with the How to Train Your Dragon actress, whose mom is Thandiwe Newton, began.
It all started when Cooper, 23, and Nico, 21, met on the set of Maude Apatow’s directorial debut Poetic License in November 2024.
“But, we didn’t officially start dating until a few weeks after filming, when she came to New York to meet my mom [costume designer Mimi O’Donnell], and I asked her to be my girlfriend,” Cooper told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Aug. 5. “It was very sweet.”
The meeting was a big deal for more than one reason, as Cooper has been open about how close he is with his mother. Plus, as his star rises, he said his family helps keep him grounded.
“Back in New York, I have my mom and my friends,” he continued, “and if some s–t went down, I’d always have someone to call.”
