One Of The Year’s Best Indie Games Sold Over 1 Million Copies In Less Than A Week

House House, the developers behind 2019’s Untitled Goose Game, have another hit on their hands. This time it’s the studio’s recently released online, co-op-only puzzle game Big Walk. The game has sold over a million copies since launching last week, according to the studio.

On August 10, Big Walk publisher Panic Games shared the big news (sorry) on social media that the co-op game had sold over one million copies in just six days. This is much faster than House House’s last game, Untitled Goose Game. That avian-themed chaos simulator took around three months to reach one million copies sold. Meanwhile, Big Walk did that in less than a week. Damn.

In just six days, over one million of you have bought Big Walk, our co-op adventure all about talking and walking.

We are so grateful that so many of you are spending time with our game. And we deeply appreciate your fanart, your streams, your stories, and your moments.

    Thank you for playing.

“In just six days, over one million of you have bought Big Walk, our co-op adventure all about talking and walking,” posted Panic. “We are so grateful that so many of you are spending time with our game. And we deeply appreciate your fanart, your streams, your stories, and your moments. Thank you for playing.”

Big Walk isn’t just selling well; it is also a big hit with critics. (Sorry again.) The co-op game that lets 2 to a dozen players work together to explore an island and solve puzzles is now the highest-rated and best-reviewed game of 2026 according to Metacritic. That puts it over big-budget hits like Forza Horizon 6 and Resident Evil Requiem. It is also beating out indie darlings like Mina The Hollower. Not bad for a game about some cute little blorbs chilling and solving puzzles together.

“Everyone is busy, life is hard, and the world is falling apart,” said Kotaku’s own Reb Valentine in her review of the game. “There is no better time to call up your friends, get everyone to give up one night a week for about a month or so, and use that time to go on a Big Walk together. I hope it makes you all as happy as it made us.” Big Walk is out now on PS5, Switch 2, and PC.
