Netflix just hijacked some of Rockstar Games’ shine. All good: it’s consensual.

The streamer will premiere “an extended look” at Grand Theft Auto VI on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. ET, Netflix announced on Thursday.

“Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto VI is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first,” Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s vice president of nonfiction series, said. “It’s a reflection of what we hope Netflix is becoming: a place where the most ambitious storytelling, from any medium, can find the biggest possible audience.”

It’s been 13 years since GTAV, and fans are more than ready. Though they’d like a physical copy if possible.

“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them,” the GTA VI synopsis reads. “But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

GTA VI will start at $79.99 when it launches on Nov. 19, 2026 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That is the base single-player game. Grand Theft Auto V was $10 cheaper. Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition “amplifies the experience” of the base game with “an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story,” according to Rockstar. That version will cost $99.99.

Grand Theft Auto VI is set for release on Nov. 19 on PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S.
