Álex Palou’s chance at matching the mark for most wins in an INDYCAR season has officially been denied.
The Spaniard, who has already clinched the title for the 2025 season, appeared set to win Sunday’s Milwaukee Mile 250 at Wisconsin State Fair Park in Wisconsin. However, with just over a dozen laps remaining, Christian Rasmussen’s late push helped him take the lead.
Rasmussen never relinquished his spot in front, only separating himself from him and Palou for his first INDYCAR win. It also marked the first time there was a first-time winner in an INDYCAR race since 2021.
