Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is about to make a smooth landing on PlayStation 5.

Sony confirmed during its latest State of Play that the highly detailed sim will arrive on December 8, 2025, bringing one of Xbox’s biggest games to a whole new audience.

The PS5 version won’t just be a straight port either. Asobo Studio has built in plenty of DualSense tricks, like adaptive triggers that mimic the feel of the controls, ATC communications playing right from the controller speaker, and even gyro controls and touchpad customization. It sounds like they’re really leaning into making the most of the hardware.

For those with a PSVR 2 headset, there’s even more to look forward to. Full VR support is in the works and will arrive in 2026 as a free update. That means an even more immersive way to take to the skies without leaving your living room.

Preorders are already live, and Asobo has also opened a beta sign-up for PS5 players who want to test the game before launch. The studio promises ongoing free world updates and sim updates, so the experience will keep evolving well after release.

Flight Simulator 2024 originally launched on Xbox and PC in late 2024, and it’s packed with features like hot air balloon trips, aerial firefighting, and even air ambulances. With the PS5 release, it joins a growing list of former Xbox exclusives making their way to PlayStation, showing how much the gaming landscape is shifting.

December’s looking like a good time to clear your schedule if you’ve ever wanted to pilot a 747 or hover in a hot air balloon, all from the comfort of your couch.
