Day three of Lollapalooza has been delayed from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. CT. Most of the sets scheduled within that three-hour window have been canceled, with a few exceptions. K-pop group Cortis, who have been moved to later this afternoon, will be performing for 40 minutes rather than their previously scheduled 50. English band Wolf Alice, originally scheduled to take the Bud Light stage at 3 p.m., has been pushed to 4 p.m., with their hour-long set slashed to just 30 minutes.
The delay comes following heavy rainfall overnight in Chicago. The poor weather is forecast to continue throughout the day and has led to localized flooding. Early this morning, photos of a swamp-like Hutchinson Field, home to both the T-Mobile and Allianz stages, began circulating on social media, and by 9:30 a.m. CT, Lollapalooza released an official statement across their social media platforms, saying, “Due to current and overnight heavy rains, doors will be delayed until 2 p.m. Please continue to watch this space for further updates.”
Just under three hours later, a second statement was put out, reading: “Thank you for your patience. At this time, we are actively working on cleaning up areas of the grounds with an updated plan to open doors at 3 p.m, with the Box Office opening at 1 p.m. Please continue to watch this space for further updates.”
The updated schedule came at 1:30 p.m. CT, an hour and a half ahead of doors. Today’s headliners are Olivia Dean and Jennie. Neither set time was affected by the rain delay. Other anticipated sets include The Neighbourhood, Geese, Sienna Spiro, Clipse and Ethel Cain.
At this time, Sunday’s schedule, which marks the festival’s fourth and final day, will continue as planned. Fans can expect performances from headliners Tate McRae and The XX, alongside other standout acts Adéla, Jade, Aespa and Stella Lefty.
