The collaboration will see data centres in Asia incorporating Keppel’s green technologies and renewable energy capabilities
[SINGAPORE] Asset manager Keppel on Wednesday (Sep 17) said it inked a new framework agreement with Dell Technologies to collaborate on data centres, and jointly develop and invest in next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) platforms in Asia.
Under the partnership, data centres in Asia will incorporate Keppel’s green technologies and renewable energy capabilities. This will be supported by Dell’s technological expertise, enterprise customer base and infrastructure, Keppel said.
In addition, the group said it will invest in and develop advanced, industry-specific AI platforms in sectors such as healthcare, financial services and manufacturing. This is in a bid to deliver highly competitive, differentiated AI solutions to accelerate digital transformation in those sectors via those platforms.
The venture will also bring AsiaPac Technology (AsiaPac), an information and communication technology, cloud and enterprise solutions provider and a part of Keppel’s connectivity division, on board. It will begin in high-growth markets such as Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam, where AsiaPac will provide cloud integration, infrastructure management services, enterprise solutions and digital transformation consulting.
The group has had a longstanding relationship with Dell via AsiaPac. This partnership involves the resale of Dell infrastructure, delivery of professional services for Dell solutions, and support for AI applications tailored for enterprise customers across Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam.
The asset manager is also working with other technology leaders such as Amazon Web Services, with whom Keppel has a global strategic framework agreement to collaborate on data centres, subsea cables and renewable energy.
