Global marine and defence solutions provider James Fisher Defence (JFD Global) has introduced a multi-role modular and configurable system designed to improve military diving operations.
Called Stealth Multi-Role (SMR) rebreather, the system integrates latest developments in technology tailored for diving missions in various operational environments.
The company has participated and showcased the system at the DSEI London 2025.
The Stealth Multi-Role rebreather is the latest generation of the company’s Stealth Life Support System range, which are used by several Nato and non-Nato countries.
According to the company, modern mission profiles demand that divers smoothly transition between varying depths and tasks, ranging from extended horizontal swims in special operations to activities at significant depths.
James Fisher military diving head Peter Laughton said: “Today’s operational environment rapidly evolving and military divers need a rebreather that is as adaptable as the missions they face – from covert special forces operations to mine clearance in contested waters.
“Stealth Multi-Role delivers that flexibility with optimum safety and performance. Built on four decades of frontline experience, it delivers a next generation capability designed to meet the harsh realities of military diving today and into the future.”
Engineered for comfort and performance, the ergonomic design of the Stealth Multi-Role accommodates a wide range of diver physiques, stated the company.

“It sets a new benchmark for military diving, with a software-driven design to enable continuous upgrades and integration with mission systems.”
Recently, JFD Global formalised a strategic partnership with Sweden’s Saab to enhance naval capabilities.
This collaboration seeks to combine the expertise of both organisations to better support clients in Sweden and globally.
