Jeremy Irons, Keke Palmer, Alan Cumming and other talent are attached to projects launching at the inaugural market at Toronto Intl. Film Festival, known as TIFF: The Market, which runs Sept. 10-16.

The projects are among 40 film, six series and five “innovation” projects to be pitched at TIFF’s International Financing and Project Market.

Standout projects include “Central Park Tale,” an animated film produced by Jacqui Barcos and John Fragomeni, and directed by Daniel Jeanette. Among talent attached are Palmer, Cumming, Common and Regina Hall.

Another notable project is “Sher,” which is being produced by David Hamilton, Rajiv Maikhuri and Craig Stovel, and will be directed by Deepa Mehta, with Jeremy Irons attached to star.

Other well-known names attached to projects include Marlee Matlin, Chase Crawford, Jacob Tremblay and Booker Prize winner Marlon James.

The full list of projects is here.

The IFPM is described as a “curated incubator” that aims to accelerate financing and help find co-production and international collaborators for projects. The event, presented by Ontario Creates, brings together more than 50 established producers with financiers, distributors, sales agents and other executives who can help propel their projects worldwide.

The focus is on content in advanced development, financing and packaging stages. The selected producers will take part in a series of sessions where they will be able to present their projects and network.

“The projects, the award-winning talent, and the enthusiasm amongst key decision-makers all reflect the emphasis we’ve placed on closing the loop between the ideas and the investments that fuel our global industry,” Charles Tremblay, head of TIFF: The Market, said.
