From one beloved paper merchant employee to another, Jenna Fischer has sent love to Lucy Davis after the latter told fans that she has incurable breast cancer.

Davis — best known for playing receptionist Dawn Tinsley in the UK version of The Office — revealed her health update in an Instagram post on Tuesday, telling followers that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025 and the disease had metastasized to her bones.

The post attracted an outpouring of support, including from her counterpart in the U.S. version of the show. Fischer, who played Pam Beesly, commented: “Beautiful post. Love you lots.”

Responding to Davis saying that she wished to continue acting, Fischer added: “And yes to working with cancer! Let’s spread that message far and wide! How working is such a comfort.”

Ricky Gervais replied with a heart emoji, while Edgar Wright, who directed Davis in Shaun of the Dead, wrote: “Love you Lucy. Always. See you very soon.”

Piers Morgan commented: “Lucy, this is such devastating news. I’m so sorry. Your courage in talking about this so honestly says everything about you. Sending you and your family all my love and support.”

Davis shot to fame in The Office, with a nation cheering on her will-they-won’t-they relationship with Tim Canterbury (Martin Freeman). Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant ultimately wrote a happy ending for the duo.

Mackenzie Crook and Freeman recently eulogized about her acting in the BBC special Mackenzie Crook and Martin Freeman Remember… The Office. Crook described it as a “beautiful” and “subtle” performance that captured the hearts of British viewers. “The Tim and Dawn stuff with her… was f*****g joyful,” Freeman added.
