EXCLUSIVE: Theresa Kang’s Blue Marble Management has signed Janine Nabers for representation across film, television, and all media.

A writer, playwright, and producer, Nabers is known for teaming with Donald Glover to co-create and exec produce Prime Video’s Swarm, which won the 2024 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Limited Series and was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series.

Currently under her third overall television deal with Amazon, Nabers’ project of the moment is Shani, a series based on the iconic ’90s doll that she’s developing for Amazon and Mattel. If picked up, this would be Mattel’s first premium scripted series.

Prior to Swarm, Nabers worked on Glover’s lauded FX series Atlanta (for which she won a Peabody Award), Away, HBO’s Watchmen (for which she won a WGA Award), Dietland, UnREAL and Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce.

Prior to her work in television, Nabers became the first Black woman to win the Yale Drama Series prize for her play Serial Black Face. Her plays have been produced around America and abroad, with the world premiere of her play The Peterson Show making its debut with the Echo Theater Company in Los Angeles this fall, running Sept. 19 through Oct. 26.

A graduate of the Lila Acheson Wallace Playwriting Fellowship at Juilliard, Nabers joins a roster at Blue Marble that includes Lena Waithe (Master of None, The Chi), Prentice Penny (Insecure), Gordon Smith (Pluribus, Better Call Saul) and Jason Kim (Barry, Girls), among other notables. She continues to be represented by WME and Mahdi Salehi of Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
