“Made in Korea” will return for a second season on Sept. 9, streaming exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu, with stars Hyun Bin, Jung Woosung and Woo Dohwan reprising their roles for the six-episode continuation of the crime noir series.
Season 2 picks up with Baek Kitae, played by Hyun Bin, still climbing toward power in the aftermath of framing prosecutor Jang Geonyoung. Now serving as deputy director within the Korean CIA, Kitae has grown his wealth and influence while expanding drug operations throughout the region. As political turmoil and public discontent grow, Geonyoung, played by Jung Woosung, emerges from the shadows to chase down a revenge plot nearly a decade in the making. The season sees both men escalate their tactics as they attempt to eliminate each other for good. Woo Dohwan returns as Baek Kihyun, Kitae’s brother.
Season 2 is written by Park Eunkyo, who also wrote the first season along with credits including “The Silent Sea” and “Mother.” Woo Minho, director of the first season and of “The Man Standing Next” and “Inside Men,” returns to direct. Hive Media Corp, the company behind “Inside Men,” “The Man Standing Next” and “12.12: The Day,” produces.
The season will launch with a two-episode premiere on Sept. 9, followed by two new episodes each Wednesday through Sept. 23.
Season 1 of “Made in Korea” was 2025’s top-viewed Korean original series premiere on Disney+ within the Asia-Pacific region. That season followed Kitae as an ambitious KCIA agent leading a double life, working as a government operative by day while running an illegal smuggling operation by night. His rise up the ranks eventually brought him into conflict with Geonyoung, a prosecutor who refused to be bought off.
Disney+ and Hulu’s Korean drama slate also includes “A Shop for Killers” seasons one and two, “The Manipulated,” about a man seeking revenge after being wrongly convicted of a crime, and “Tempest,” centered on a conspiracy that puts the Korean Peninsula’s stability at risk.
