Here’s how to install iOS 26 final version and iPadOS 26 final version on your iPhone or iPad the right way.
Apple has been running a beta program for the new iOS 26 update for a while now, and it all culminates in the release of the update to the public.
The iOS 26 update was announced during the WWDC event in June, and has been in beta testing ever since. Developers and public beta testers have been putting the iOS 26 update and new features through their paces, reporting issues to Apple so that it can deal with them.
Now that those issues have been dealt with and iOS 26 is ready for primetime, updating your iPhone and iPad couldn’t be easier.
Just go to Settings > General > Software Update to download and install the new version.
If you’ve been testing the betas, make sure to turn beta testing off to ensure you get the final, public version for your device.
