As the “So Yesterday” singer—also mom to son Luca, 14, with ex Mike Comrie—led her girls off the stage with Townes on her hip, she chanted, “Best delivery girls.”

And Duff’s daughters’ sweet appearances prove that her middle daughter Mae is back to feeling herself after a quick trip to the ER for stitches, which the singer revealed Aug. 5.

“She’s fine, it’s all good,” Duff assured the crowd on stage, “but it’s very ‘our family’ coded that I’d be playing my first night at MSG and also be in the emergency room getting my kid stitched up.”

Although her girls didn’t join her on stage for the first night, she gave Mae a special shoutout, adding, “Mae Mae, you’re very brave.”

Duff’s MSG performances come as she ends her North American leg of her Lucky Me tour before setting off to the United Kingdom next month. And while the 38-year-old’s latest musical chapter will continue into next year, she’s already teasing more shows to come.

“I’m ready for my set list to change,” Duff told People in April. “I’m ready to surprise people with some of the songs that I’m going to be singing and my new music.”

And considering Duff only recently made her return to music with the release of luck … or something earlier this year, she’s been floored by the warm welcome back she’s received from fans so far.

“It’s this very cool way to connect in our lives now — everyone’s grown up, and we feel like we have a lot of the same life experiences,” she added. “It’s like more real-world s–t, and it’s fun to mix those two together.”

For a deeper look into how Duff mixes motherhood with her return to pop star life, keep reading…
