Gemini Spark, a paid feature for Gemini that allows you to run very complex, multi-step tasks in the background, is getting a big new addition this week. Google Photos is now available to use with Gemini Spark.
This is a huge new connection for Spark because it will allow you to request Google Photos-related tasks that might otherwise take you hours and hours to complete.
As a part of today’s announcement for Google Photos within Gemini Spark, Google shared examples for using it, like having Google Photos find all of your vacation selfies, erasing background crowds, and centering you in the shots. While that’s generative AI stuff I wouldn’t personally do, you get the idea.
You could also have Spark put together all of the photos you took from a vacation, edit them all by brightening or boosting shadows, and then telling it to send it in an email to the person you went on vacation with.
In maybe less gross-AI terms, you could even have Spark create a weekly shared folder of new photos of your kids that could be easily sent over to grandparents.
Google offers even more ideas, like creating collages or videos, stylizing bunches of pictures, generating summaries of events, extracting text from images, and other recurring tasks that your brain may be able to come up with.
Google Photos within Gemini Spark is starting to rollout now and should arrive over the “next few weeks” to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers.
