If you’re having trouble signing in later on, you just take another selfie to get back into your account. Selfie video compares the new video to the one you set up to confirm it is really you and help you get back into your account.
Google says that the video that the new feature captures is “recorded and securely stored with your consent, and you can delete it at any time in your Google Account.” The company also notes that it uses multiple layers of security to prevent impersonation attempts, including the use of deep fakes.
Google has already tested the new feature in Brazil, and has now rolled it out to Google Account holders beyond that country’s borders for the first time.
