Forza Horizon 6 Heads to Japan In 2026 With Xbox And PC Launch

Playground Games has officially announced the next chapter in its racing series, and Forza Horizon 6 is heading to Japan in 2026.

The reveal came with a short teaser shown during Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show stream, after a brief slip earlier on the official Forza Horizon Instagram account.

Fans have been asking for Japan as a setting since the very first Horizon game, and it’s finally happening. Players will get to race through neon-soaked Tokyo streets as well as wider open-world areas inspired by Japan’s landscapes. Xbox’s Matt Booty called it “the most requested location” and promised more details early next year.

The game will launch on Xbox and PC first, with a PlayStation 5 version arriving sometime after release. That’s a different approach compared to Forza Horizon 5, which found huge popularity on PS5 last year and even topped Sony’s charts despite being several years old.

Forza Horizon 6’s release window also lines up with a busy year for Xbox. Alongside Playground’s new racer, fans can expect Gears of War: E-Day, a Halo CE remaster, and the long-awaited Fable reboot. With Japan finally on the map, Forza Horizon 6 could be the most exciting entry in the franchise yet.
