Foo Fighters have surprise-released a new live EP, ‘Are Playing Where??? Vol. II’, on Bandcamp – check it out below.

It is the second instalment in a series that launched last October with ‘Are Playing Where??? Vol. I’, which gathered live tracks that the band had played around the US earlier in the year.

This time around, the six tracks are taken from the band’s intimate shows at Irving Plaza in New York City on April 30 and Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey on May 2, shows that were part of their intimate run of gigs that have run throughout the year.

‘Are Playing Where??? Vol. II’ includes ‘Of All People’, ‘Window’ and the title track of their latest album ‘Your Favorite Toy‘, as well as older favourites ‘These Days’, ‘My Hero’ and ‘Aurora’.

The EP is available on a pay-what-you-want basis on Bandcamp, and the band have said that “any proceeds from this EP will go to local charities in those cities”.

Listen below and purchase the tracks here.

Foo Fighters – ‘Are Playing Where??? Vol. II’ tracklist:

‘Of All People’ (live at Starland Ballroom)
‘These Days’ (live at Irving Plaza)
‘Your Favorite Toy’ (live at Irving Plaza)
‘My Hero’ (live at Starland Ballroom)
    ‘Window’ (live at Irving Plaza)
    ‘Aurora’ (live at Starland Ballroom)

Foo Fighters released their 12th studio album ‘Your Favorite Toy’ in April, and NME awarded it three-and-a-half stars, noting: “‘Your Favorite Toy’ is a few more tracks of that depth away from being the most vital Foo Fighters record since 1997’s ‘The Colour and the Shape’. For now, at least, they have remembered that no-frills punk, played fast and loud, suits them much better than middle-of-the-road dad-rock.”

They are also currently touring North America with Queens Of The Stone Age, with the opening night going down earlier this week in Toronto.

It follows on from their recent European run that included two nights at Anfield in Liverpool. NME was at one of those shows, and in a four-star review said: “Grohl asks why oh why the band are only playing these two Liverpool gigs in their home away from home of the UK this year, but assures us that this is merely “a cocktail party before the big dinner” – with talk of some big plans in Blighty for 2027.”
