As FNaF fans await a third installment in the video game movie franchise, they can enjoy a slice at a Five Nights at Freddy’s immersive pizzeria.
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, the fictitious haunted establishment from the FNaF games and movies, is opening next year at the American Dream mall and entertainment complex in Bergen County, New Jersey, where fans will be able to eat pizza, play arcade games and catch a show with their favorite animatronic characters.
A spokesperson told NJ outlet Patch that the fast-casual pizzeria will be “the world’s first permanent immersive restaurant experience tied to the franchise,” developed in partnership with the video game creator Scott Cawthon’s banner Scott Games.
In addition to catching Freddy and the Fazbear Band on the Main Stage, as well as Foxy the Pirate in Pirate Cove, fans will get the chance to survive horror-inspired multi-player game experiences.
Atreyu Alcantar, a popular FNaF cosplayer and American Dream’s creative manager leading the attraction, ensured that the team “knows Five Nights at Freddy’s inside and out,” adding, “The animatronic show has to be authentic. The food has to be high quality.”
“We’re not building a set that looks like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza — we’re building Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza,” said Alcantar. “This experience will immerse longtime fans in the world they’ve imagined for years.”
The attraction comes as fans await Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, the third installment in the Emma Tammi-helmed Blumhouse trilogy based on the survival horror game created by Cawthon in 2014. The films follow security guard Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) as he guards Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, where homicidal animatronics wander the restaurant at night, while trying to solve the kidnapping of his younger brother years before.
With the first movie becoming Blumhouse’s biggest opening ever in 2023, despite a theatrical day-and-date on Peacock, followed by last year’s sequel breaking multiple box office records, the franchise has surpassed $530M globally.
