Dick Clark Productions has launched DCP Studios, a unit designed to expand the company’s creative and production capabilities for awards shows including the Golden Globes, “Dick Clark’s New Years’ Rockin’ Eve,” Academy of Country Music Awards, American Music Awards and other programs.

The division will be led by Yosef Johnson, who most recently served as senior VP and head of Vox Creative, a division within Vox Media, which was recently acquired by Penske Media Corporation. PMC is also the parent company of DCP and Variety, which is part of the newly established PMX unit.

“I’m thrilled to bring this extraordinary team into DCP and have the opportunity to build exciting new partnerships with advertisers, rooted in the iconic legacy and live entertainment of both DCP and the expanding portfolio at PMX,” Johnson said. “We’re excited to create rich, enduring stories around powerful IP, franchises and longstanding talent relationships and to help our brand partners show up in ways that are culturally resonant, creatively ambitious and built for every platform where audiences engage.”

Johnson brings more than 15 years of experience to DCP. He’s held leadership roles at Group Nine Media, NowThis and Wieden+Kennedy New York, working on brands such as Nike and ESPN.

Additionally, DCP Studios will also serve as the branded production studio for PMX brand partnerships.

“DCP Studios expands our ability to tell a wider array of stories for partners and audiences across every platform, while also allowing us to offer a broader range of creative services through an always-on studio model,” said Mike Chuthakieo, chief commercial officer for DCP.
