Big Walk, the latest project from Untitled Goose Game creators House House, has become one of the best-reviewed games of 2026.

Big Walk, a cooperative multiplayer adventure about teamwork and talking, is set to launch later today (August 4).

“Set out with your friends through a wide-open world full of challenges, puzzles, and discoveries. You’ll need to work together to find your way around, stay in contact using an assortment of tools and toys, and figure out new ways to communicate when you suddenly find yourself speechless,” reads an official description of the game. “Adventuring aside, there’s plenty of time to just hang out. Sit and watch the sunset, or steal your friend’s binoculars and kick them into the ocean. Spending time with friends is the best part of a big walk.”

Initially dismissed as another “friendslop” title (AKA a low budget multiplayer game), Big Walk has received rave reviews from a number of critics. According to aggregate site Metacritic, Big Walk has an average review score of 93 out of 100, making it the second-best reviewed game of 2026.

    DO NOT SKIP THIS GAME

The hype behind Big Walk is very real and although I’m only 5 hours into it, it’s some of the most fun I’ve had with a COOP game in a MINUTE.

“The Untitled Goose Game team returns with a funny, exciting, and deeply rewarding multiplayer adventure that combines knockabout fun with some surprisingly big ideas,” wrote Eurogamer in their perfect review of Big Walk.

“Not since Astro Bot in 2024 have I played a game that has made so much of an impression on me, and the hours I’ve put into completing Big Walk with a friend have not only provided endless entertainment, but also further solidified that friendship, even if, at times, my co-op partner was left incredibly frustrated by my brainless moments or when I decided to punt a key item off a cliff, purely because I could,” said Insider Gaming’s Josh Challies.

“Big Walk is a game that is nothing short of outstanding in its design, a co-op adventure that feels like you’re 12 years old again and venturing across those fields with your buddies. Its strict reliance on communication and clever puzzle design makes it one of the most rewarding games I think I’ve ever played, but its technical shortcomings on the Switch 2 version do take the shine off a touch. Thankfully, it’s not enough to break what is one of the most unique and intriguing games released this decade, if you’re willing to learn to communicate,” said Nintendo Life in their review.

Big Walk launches today (August 4) for Nintendo Switch 2, PC and PlayStation 5.

In other news, Dave Bautista is reportedly in talks to play Kratos in the live-action God Of War series after the original actor Ryan Hurst dropped out.
