Game Freak is promising players of Beast of Reincarnation a “series of continuous updates” addressing a number of issues that have been pointed out with the game since launch.

In a post on X today, Game Freak said its first patch would be released within a week, and would contain camera adjustments, increased text size, and adjustments to story pacing, as well as various bug fixes. It’ll also change the default graphics setting from cinematic to performance mode.

    Beast of Reincarnation

The “increased text size” update will be especially welcome, as we pointed out at launch that the current text size is absolutely miniscule and nigh unreadable on a normal TV, even with 20/20 vision. Currently there’s no way to adjust text size in the game.

As for the rest, these seem to be in response to fan concerns voiced in places such as Steam reviews, which for Beast of Reincarnation are currently “mixed,” with only 53 percent positive. A number of individuals mention cinematic mode being janky and resulting in poor visuals and performance, and recommending that other players turn it off. Plenty of reviews also call out the camera for making it difficult to maneuver and see what’s going on in fights against very large enemies, of which Beast of Incarnation has many.

The “story pacing” update is a bit baffling. Though there are plenty of critiques of Beast of Reincarnation‘s story, it’s not really evident what Game Freak could reasonably update to fix that. Game Freak’s post notes that adjustments to this will be “ongoing,” so it’s possible that some significant rework is planned here over time.

Our own review found the game uneven, with some seriously high highs but also struggles with dull voice performances, repetitive boss fights, and inconsistent technical issues. Hopefully these updates can help Beast of Reincarnation reach its full potential.
