August’s PS Plus Games Catalog Update Adds Helldivers 2, Metro, And More

Well, this was a nice surprise. August’s PlayStation Plus Games Catalog update features numerous big titles and highly rated games coming to the service throughout the month, and it all starts off with one of the best co-op shooters around, Helldivers 2, dropping on PS Plus Extra and Premium later today on PS5.

On August 12, PlayStation officially announced the next round of PS Plus Extra and Premium games that will be added to the subscription service’s game catalog. Take note that not all of these games will be available starting today. We’ve added the dates to the list below to help you plan your gaming schedule.

And folks, this is one of the best months I’ve seen in some time for the ol’ PS Plus Game Catalog. Normally, there’s at least one or two games worth shouting out or that I’m excited to finally play. This month, nearly the whole list is filled with games I’m happy to have access to soon. As mentioned, Helldivers 2 coming to the PS Plus Games Catalog is great and will likely bring a whole bunch of new players to the sci-fi shooter. But the Game Catalog is also getting Metro Exodus, Vampire Survivors, and Two Point Museum, three games I really enjoyed and wouldn’t mind having access to on PS5. On top of that, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Hell Is Us, games I’ve been wanting to check out for a bit now, are also coming to the catalog.

I almost feel like this month is so good because Sony spent extra money licensing some bigger titles to help win back some players after announcing the end of physical games in 2028. We’ll see how that ploy works out.

Remember, to access, download, and play these PlayStation games, you’ll need to be an active PS Plus Extra or Premium tier subscriber. Essential tier subscribers don’t get access to the game catalog. And if your subscription runs out in the future, you’ll no longer be able to play these games until you resubscribe.

Anyway, here’s the full list of games being added to PS Plus and when they will be available in the United States to download:

    PlayStation Plus Extra And Premium

    Helldivers 2 | PS5 – August 12

    Kingdom Come: Deliverance II |  PS5 – August 18

    Vampire Survivors | PS5, PS4 – August 18

    Hell is Us | PS5 – August 25

    Umamusume Pretty Derby | PS4 – August 25

    Two Point Museum | PS5 – August 25

    Metro Exodus | PS5, PS4 – August 25

    Dying Light 2 | PS5, PS4 – August 25

    PlayStation Plus Premium

    Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams | PS5, PS4 – August 18

    Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire | PS5, PS4 – August 18
