Morrissey has cancelled his Las Vegas residency a week before it was due to begin.

The former Smiths frontman released his 14th solo album ‘Make-Up Is A Lie’ in March via Sire Records, and was due to play a four-night residency at the Wynn Las Vegas kicking off next Friday (August 14).

However, the dates have now been removed from the Wynn’s official website, while Morrissey’s team has announced the shows have been cancelled due to “unforeseen logistical challenges,” per Consequence.

The singer has a reputation for axing and postponing gigs, and in March called off a show in Valencia “due to sleep deprivation”. The Spanish embassy in the UK later poked fun at Morrissey over the reasoning behind his last-minute cancellation.

Before that, this year alone he has axed shows in St. Petersburg, Florida, San Diego, St. Louis and Atlanta – with the latter also being due to “artist illness”.

He postponed another show in California, too, following an “adverse reaction to a prescription medication”. See a complete list of every gig that Morrissey has cancelled since 2012 here.

The singer is due to return to the UK for five arena shows in December, visiting Brighton, Cardiff, Liverpool, Glasgow and Leeds.

In other news, last month, he criticised the BBC for not playing his single ‘Notre-Dame’, after the track reached Number Six on the Official Singles Sales Chart. “The public wants to hear the song, but the BBC will not play it,” he wrote, before claiming that “diversity is a lie”.

Morrissey also recently launched another attack on his former Smiths bandmate Johnny Marr, accusing him of dividing the group’s audience into “factions” over an upcoming BBC documentary.

Meanwhile, a collection of previously unseen letters written by Morrissey as a teenager, in which he predicted that he would become a “rock ’n’ roll star”, is going up for auction.
