Arlo Technologies has unveiled a new range of smart home security cameras, all powered by its artificial intelligence-driven Arlo Intelligence.

The refreshed lineup expands across all Arlo product tiers, including updated models in the Essential, Pro, and Ultra Series, alongside the introduction of two all-new pan tilt cameras designed for comprehensive 360-degree coverage indoors and outdoors. These latest offerings are designed to provide consumers with additional options for securing their homes, featuring customisable alerts and straightforward DIY installation.

    AI-driven platform

The company’s deployment of Arlo Intelligence builds on its existing Arlo Secure platform, which leverages artificial intelligence to monitor activity and deliver context-aware notifications tailored to users’ specific security needs. Subscribers can now personalise alerts for targeted zones such as driveways, entrances, or pet areas and view animated previews of detected events, providing the ability to respond quickly when necessary.

“Building on the successful launch of Arlo Secure 6 and its advanced AI capabilities earlier this year, we’re excited to introduce our all-new lineup that leverages all of the advanced capabilities of Arlo Intelligence to deliver smarter, safer and more comprehensive smart home security,” said Matthew McRae, CEO of Arlo Technologies.

“With over 5 million subscribers globally, Arlo is the trusted provider of security services that continues to lead the market, offering the most advanced, easy-to-use smart security platform that delivers more intelligence, more control, and more peace of mind.”

Arlo’s subscription model starts from AUD $6.67 per month for a single camera, billed annually. The company has also introduced Arlo Secure Plus, which enhances user security through AI-powered features such as Person and Vehicle Recognition, Fire Detection, Advanced Audio Detection, and Event Captions. These capabilities enable more precise notification and response based on specific types of movement or activity.

    Pan tilt models

The new Essential Pan Tilt Indoor Camera and Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera provide customers with the ability to monitor every corner of their property, featuring 360-degree panning and 180-degree tilt functionality. Custom viewing positions can be saved in the Arlo Secure app for rapid access. At the same time, motion tracking allows the cameras to automatically follow and record people or animals as they move.

Other features include dual-band Wi-Fi support, ensuring reliable connectivity. This on-demand privacy mode disables audio and video, features a wired power connection for continuous protection, and includes infrared night vision and two-way audio with noise cancellation. Cameras can also trigger an integrated siren either automatically or manually in the event of a detected threat. The Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera features weather resistance and a built-in spotlight, illuminating and helping to identify details such as faces or licence plate numbers in low-light conditions.

Both pan tilt models are set for availability on 13 October, with retail pricing at AUD $79 for the Essential Pan Tilt Indoor Camera and AUD $119 for the Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera. New Zealand pricing is NZD $89 and NZD $139, respectively.

    Additional camera updates

The range update also includes third-generation models of the Essential Security Camera 2K, Pro Security Camera 2K, and Ultra Security Camera 4K, extending coverage options for homes and properties of different sizes.

The Essential Series cameras focus on core home security needs at a lower price point, featuring 2K resolution. The third-generation Essential Security Camera 2K is listed at AUD $149 and NZD $169.

The Pro Series, designed for those seeking enhanced functionality, features weather-resistant cameras with 2K HDR video, a 160-degree field of view, colour night vision, an adjustable siren, and swappable, rechargeable batteries. Pro Security Camera 2K (6th Gen) will retail for AUD $199 and NZD $229.

The top-tier Ultra Series focuses on high-end home monitoring, equipped with 4K HDR video, an ultra-wide 180-degree field of view, and advanced two-way audio. Battery-operated devices eliminate the need for wired installation. The Ultra Security Camera 4K (3rd Gen) will retail at AUD $279 (single camera) and AUD $599 for a two-camera kit; NZD $319 and NZD $699, respectively.

    Arlo Secure functionality

All cameras in the expanded lineup are compatible with the Arlo Secure platform, providing users with immediate access to emergency response features, cloud storage, and intelligent notifications through a single application. The system is designed to enable users to act swiftly in the event of suspicious activity or emergencies, as well as to monitor routine events, such as package deliveries or movements in commonly used areas.

According to Arlo, its systems are designed for straightforward installation and management, with a user-focused approach to privacy. The platform features privacy controls that enable customers to disable cameras and manage the collection of audio and video according to their specific needs.

All security cameras and systems referenced in the announcement are scheduled to be available for purchase from 13 October via the Arlo online store, targeting customers in Australia and New Zealand.
