Best and Last’ Sets Paramount+ Release Date on Streaming

The joke’s over: “Jackass: Best and Last” will be available to stream on Paramount+ on Sept. 24.

After the film’s theatrical release on June 26, the decades-long saga of pranks and tomfoolery is finally coming to an end. The “Jackass” crew’s wild ride from MTV show to five-part film series officially concludes with its move to streaming.

The original cast members, including Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, Dave England, Preston Lacy and Ehren McGhehey, all reunited for one last round of pranks in “Best and Last.” The film comes four years after “Jackass Forever,” in which the cast stuck to their debaucherous ways, while introducing a new generation of pranksters. During production of that movie, Knoxville was pummeled by a bull, leaving him with a brain hemorrhage, concussion, broken wrist and broken rib that forced him to semi-retire.

“I can’t do anything where I can get another concussion,” Knoxville said on the “Books That Changed My Life” podcast. “[I’m] way over my limit for concussions, but I don’t care about anything else. I just can’t get hit in the head anymore — but a lot of other guys can.”

While he successfully avoided head injuries this time around, Knoxville and his crew spent this film revisiting old stunts and experimenting with new extremes.

“My name is Johnny Knoxville, and I’m going to try to not get emotional,” the star said on the CinemaCon stage. “This is the last ‘Jackass’ film the world will ever see. ‘Jackass’ means a hell of a lot for me. We knew we were making the last one, so we went extra hard to make sure this was also our best ‘Jackass’ film ever.”
