Green Day have launched a 24/7 YouTube stream, which will offer around the clock footage from across the band’s history.
GDTV (Green Day TV) launched yesterday (Thursday August 6) and features 24/7 footage of the band, including music videos and live performances.
As well as full gigs available to watch, there is also more rare footage included on the livestream too, including archival clips, backstage videos, and rarely seen videos of the band before and after their live shows.
Once a week, drummer Tré Cool will host his own show on the platform called Transmission Unknown. This will see him handpick a number of emerging acts who he wants to spotlight, as well as include comedy sketches.

The new launch of GDTV comes as the punk trio will soon release their comedy movie Nimrods, loosely inspired by their early touring days. The movie comes out on August 14 in theatres.
The film stars Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman and Ryan Foust as the teenage band, with Mckenna Grace, Fred Armisen, Jenna Fischer and Bobby Lee in supporting roles.
“You have to be delusional to be in a band,” frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said of the film. “It takes a certain kind of dreamer. I remember trying to get that first gig. It was like, ‘Oh, my God, if we could only get out of this living room and then play our first show at Gilman.”

In other Green Day news, the trio have played ‘Basket Case’ on top of an ice cream truck at San Diego Comic-Con, said that “the World Cup did more [good for humanity] than the UN has done in the last 20 years“, and Armstrong has announced a limited-edition Radiant Red Epiphone guitar.
