The musician’s third album, Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, is out today

Role Model appeared on The Tonight Show to perform his new song, “Harmony.” The musician showcased the anthemic track with the help of his live band and a group of backup singers, adding a theatrical style to performance.

“Harmony” is the closing track on Role Model’s brand new LP, Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, which dropped today. His Tonight Show appearance marked the song’s TV debut.

Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, Role Model’s third album, explores the singer’s journey after a very public break-up with Emma Chamberlain.

“Lyrically, the common thread seemed to be time,” he told Rolling Stone. “And when we started really figuring out how to produce it, it was like, let’s ride that a little bit and take little pieces of the best parts of all these eras that we love and pull them in to make these weird little cocktails of songs along the way as this journey through time. Which is where I came up with the Chuck Timely thing — someone who can represent that journey through time, someone who’s been there the whole time.”

He added that “the biggest challenge was just this line that I keep talking about that we were riding.” “I had this very clear vision from before I even started writing the songs of what this album is, and I’m really bad with communicating what I am seeing or hearing,” he explained. “For me to communicate these ideas was always the hardest part.”

Role Model sat down with Jimmy Fallon to reflect on making the LP and said he wanted to have “this character to represent the themes on the album.” “A lot of it is about time passing and time passing, and I was in this two-year period of being single and my friends were getting married and everything was kind of moving forward,” he noted.
