The Fourth Wing series is getting its first graphic novel next year. Amazon has recently posted a preorder listing for the first volume with a release date of April 6, 2027. The cover has yet to be revealed, but the listing states that it will be 256 pages long and adapts chapters 1-22 of the first book.

The graphic novel will be getting released as a hardcover, paperback, and Kindle edition all at the same time. You can choose to preorder either the standard version or the more expensive “Deluxe Signed Edition”.

Other than the release date and length of the graphic novel, we don’t know that much about it. Rebecca Yarros revealed on her Instagram account earlier this year that she’s already written the second graphic novel, but we still haven’t been shown any sort of artwork. The illustrator working on the project is Anabel Rossi, who has created fan art for popular franchises before (including House of the Dragon).

While a graphic novel is an exciting addition to the series, the fact that Yarros herself is writing the adaptation will likely impact the release date for book four. Onyx Storm was released back at the beginning of 2025, just a little over a year after Iron Flame. If the author follows a similar publishing pattern, that would mean book four should be getting released sometime in early 2027. Without any sort of concrete announcement, however, that’s only speculation.

And while there’s no news about book four just yet, Yarros did recently announce that a new title in the series would be arriving next month. The next book is called Threshing Day and features 13 stories from fan-favorite characters on the day they got their dragons and will be out on September 29, 2026.

In addition to that new book, Amazon’s Fourth Wing TV series is still moving forward with Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society at the helm. With so much in the works, The Empyrean series continues to solidify its place as one of the biggest names in the romantasy genre.
