As Matt Reeves is hard at work in Gotham City, James Gunn is quelling some overeager fans about the timeline of the Batman trilogy.

In his latest Threads session, the DC Studios boss shot down rumors that The Batman: Part II will shoot back-to-back with The Batman: Part III as he answered fan questions about the future of the DCU and Reeves’ Batman films.

“I can deny,” responded Gunn to one fan who asked if the two sequels are filming “simultaneously.”

While returning to the directors chair at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK back in May, Reeves teased some test shots of Robert Pattonson’s Dark Knight and the Batmobile this week on social media, as well as a snowy winter setting that has fans on the edge of their seats for the long-awaited sequel.

Gunn revealed last July that the script for The Batman: Part II was finished, following several delays. Last August, a letter to Warner Bros. Discovery’s shareholders revealed that filming on the sequel would begin filming in the spring.

Last month, Warner Bros pushed the movie’s release date to Feb. 18, 2028 as Reeves continued to tease the sequel with camera test footage of Pattinson in costume.
