Ne-Yo Sued Over Alleged Dog Attack On Delivery Woman

Ne-Yo is facing a new lawsuit that claims his “vicious and dangerous” dog attacked a woman delivering a package at his Atlanta area home.

Attorneys for Dominique Bridgett say a dog owned by the “So Sick” singer (Shaffer Chimere Smith) attacked her “suddenly and without warning” when she was dropping off a package at his Alpharetta home in July 2025.

“Defendant’s Canine mauled Plaintiff’s causing severe bodily injury, pain, shock, and distress,” Bridgett’s lawyers write in the complaint, obtained by Billboard — adding that the dog was “not restrained” even though it had shown “aggressive behavior toward people.”

In her complaint, Bridgett claims the attack has caused pain, suffering and injuries that “may be permanent in nature.” She says she’s already paid more than $9,000 in medical bills, and wants unspecified amount of additional damages to “completely compensate” her.

The case was filed in late June in Fulton County Court; it was first reported Thursday (Aug. 6) by TMZ. A rep for Ne-Yo did not immediately return a request for comment.

The new case comes after Chris Brown just faced a similar lawsuit, which claimed that his dog mauled a housekeeper at his California home. In June, a jury awarded the woman nearly $13 million in damages for physical and emotional suffering and medical expenses.

Brown’s case featured more serious alleged injuries than the case against Ne-Yo, including that Brown’s huge dog ripped off “large chunks of her skin” and caused “permanent facial disfigurement” and vision loss. In her new lawsuit, Bridgett claims only that Ne-Yo’s dog bit her on the leg.

In technical legal terms, she’s accusing the star of legal negligence, meaning he had a duty to prevent the dog from attacking her at his house. She says the singer “knew or should have known of the peculiar propensities that rendered the canine in question vicious or dangerous,” but had “failed to maintain proper control” over the animal.
