You Can Match iOS 26’s Icon Colors To Your Case Color, Here’s How

Apple’s new iPhones and cases are now on sale, and iOS 26 is officially available for download. But did you know that your iPhone can tint your icons to match your case?

The tinting feature was already easy to use, but the new addition uses the NFC chip in your Apple iPhone case to identify its color and then use that information to tint icons accordingly.

    Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Long press on your Home Screen.

Step 2: Tap Edit in the top-left corner followed by Customize.

Step 3: Choose Tinted from the options that appear and then tap the button that looks like an iPhone case.

Step 4: Choose Light, Dark, or Auto for the overall look to match your taste. Auto will see the icons change depending on whether you have Dark Mode enabled, or not.

You’ll need to have your iPhone case on for this to work, otherwise iOS 26 won’t know which color to use when customizing the icons.

This new feature won’t be for everyone, but if you’re someone who likes everything to match and look just right, this could be the stealth feature you’ve didn’t know you needed.

Apple’s iOS 26 software update was released earlier in September, after months of beta testing with developers and those on the public beta program.
