YouTube will soon start to unlock channels that had been closed a few years ago because of the spread of false information around Coronavirus pandemic and political elections. Google’s video portal reacts to pressure from US politics.

    YouTube wants to paint lock

In one Writing to a US politician from the Republican Party Has announced the Internet company Alphabet that Google’s video portal wants to restore clever channels that were blocked due to the spread of conspiracy theories and false information in the course of the Covid19 pandemic and with a view to elections. Alphabet, the parent company of Google and thus also YouTube, referred to US politician Jim Jordan loudly in the letter to US politician Ars Technica The fact that the “freedom of expression” and “political debate” were approved and the previously blocked channels were only taken offline because the company was forced to do so by the previous US government under Joe Biden.

    “Biden is to blame!”

In his letter, Alphabet also explained that his products had no tendency to a certain perspective and that Google did not really want to block the affected channels. Instead, representatives of the bidges had repeatedly made corresponding demands. False information did not actually violate the terms of use of YouTube and other Google services, it continued.

YouTube only banned the spread of false information on Covid19 on a wide front until 2024 under pressure from the bidges. These guidelines were said to have even one year longer than similar regulations that concerned the spread of conspiracy theories around elections. Today the rules of YouTube would allow a wide range of content. YouTube now wants to unlock the channels of the deputy FBI boss Dan Bongino and the anti-terrorist leader of the White House of Sebastian Gorka. Both had previously been blocked due to the spread of false information, but are now members of the US government under Donald Trump. I

t is still unclear when YouTube wants to release the affected channels again. In his letter to the Republican politician, Google also explained that regulatory hurdles have to be mastered in Europe. The group expressly mentions the digital marketing law and the digital service law, which was introduced by the EU to regulate the excessive market power of the US technology groups. These laws could supposedly restrict free expression, according to the company.

The explanation of Alphabet, Google and YouTube was reaction to a criminal order for information, with which Jordan put pressure on the group. Google is currently in the crosshair of the US government because the company and its various offshoots are accused of using its market power. The group may want to get a better position compared to the current US government by not making measures against false information.
