Samsung Electronics has presented its “AI Home: Future Living, Now” vision, introducing new artificial intelligence features and appliances intended to make everyday living more convenient, efficient, and safe.
Cheolgi Kim (CK), Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliances Business, described the company’s approach to artificial intelligence in daily life.
“At Samsung, we’re not just imagining the future of AI; we’re building it into everyday life. Samsung’s AI Home moves beyond smart devices to homes that truly understand you, adapt to your needs, and care for what matters most. This is the beginning of a new era – where technology supports your life in the background so that you can live it more fully.”
Consumer research
According to Samsung Electronics research, 66% of European consumers find the idea of an AI-enabled home appealing. Many expect such systems to streamline daily tasks (44%) and offer greater control via phone or voice commands (45%). SmartThings automated routines aim to meet these expectations by automating factors such as lighting, temperature, and synchronisation of blinds with the weather.
The survey also highlights that the home acts as a sanctuary for 93% of respondents and a social hub for 80%. The AI Home is intended to support these roles by offering features like wellness checks, personalised sleep settings, and meal planning, aimed at enhancing time spent with family.
Focus on efficiency
Energy efficiency remains a key priority. 66% of European consumers believe that an AI-enabled home can help them track costs and save money. Samsung’s SmartThings Energy allows users to manage energy consumed by their washing machines and other appliances.
Security continues to be important, with 40% of surveyed consumers expecting AI to improve home protection through timely alerts. Samsung’s Knox Vault and Knox Matrix provide security measures that extend protection across connected devices.
Bespoke AI appliances
The company’s Bespoke AI appliances bring enhanced AI capabilities. The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra, now upgraded with improved AI object recognition, can detect liquids including transparent spills. The Bespoke AI Washer features AI Wash+, aiming for energy efficiency substantially above the minimum threshold for Classe A in the European market. While Australian availability for these products has not been confirmed, Samsung Australia plans to expand its local range of energy efficient laundry appliances in Q3 2025.
The Bespoke AI Dishwasher uses AI Wash to optimise cleaning cycles based on the level of dirtiness and includes an Auto Open Door function to accelerate drying. This dishwasher, alongside the Extractor Induction Hob – an appliance that integrates the extractor into the cooking hob – are currently available only in Europe.
Vision AI and display technology
Samsung’s Vision AI Companion introduces a more interactive home entertainment experience by recognising and responding to users in human-like ways. The company is strengthening partnerships with global technology groups, including Google, Microsoft, and Perplexity, as part of its open platform approach.
Samsung also unveiled Micro RGB, a 115-inch display delivering cinema-like visuals for the home. This product is set to join Samsung’s television line-up in Australia in the coming months. Other display innovations include The Movingstyle, a portable touchscreen TV with built-in battery and adaptive AI, and the Samsung Sound Tower, which provides portable sound and customisable lighting effects. The Sound Tower is scheduled for release in Australia in 2026, while other product launches await local announcements.
Galaxy AI expansion
Since the introduction of the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has aimed to expand its Galaxy AI features to more than 200 million devices during 2024. The company plans to increase this number to over 400 million devices by the end of 2025, with new multimodal capabilities designed to provide a seamless mobile experience across a broader range of devices.
Samsung states that Galaxy AI features are currently offered free of charge, with any decisions on premium services to be made in collaboration with industry partners. There are no current plans to charge for Galaxy AI features, although different terms may apply to AI features from third parties after 2025.
AI and the arts
The company is also presenting a media art installation in collaboration with digital artist Maotik, which features a 50-metre-wide digital façade. The video installation is themed around “wind” and uses dynamic waves formed by data movement as a symbol of Samsung’s contribution to improving day-to-day life through AI technology.
