Apple’s New MagSafe Charger Supports Qi2.2 25W Charging

Alongside the announcement of its new iPhone 17 series of devices, Apple has also released a new version of its popular MagSafe Charger. This new model upgrades the previous MagSafe Charger and adds support for faster Qi2.2 charging.

The new charger is available in two versions. You can choose the one-meter version or the two-meter one which sell for $39 and $49 respectively.

One end of the cable has the new Qi2 MagSafe charger while the other has a USB-C connector. You’ll need to provide your own USB-C charging brick, though.

It appears that the only difference between this new version of the charger and the older one is the addition of Qi2.2 support, which means that it now supports 25W wireless charging. That means that any iPhone from the iPHone 17 or newer as well as other Qi2-compatible devices, will charge at 25W. The previous charger was limited to just 20W.

The new MagSafe Charger is available to order from Apple’s online store right now. The new iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will all be available for preorder on September 12 before officially going on sale on September 19.

Apple also announced the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3, and they will also go up for preorder on September 12. Again, the new watches will go on sale on September 19.
